This year there are three different scholarship applications that current high school senior members of AFCU can apply for.
The Hughes/Demmin Scholarship award is AFCU’s own scholarship available exclusively to members of AFCU. Two applicants are chosen by the board of directors to each win a $1,000 scholarship. Applications are due by April 1, 2024. Please submit all applications to the Amherst Federal Credit Union office.
Hughes/Demmin Scholarship ApplicationThe Amherst Academies Scholarship award is available to graduating members of Amherst High School’s academy program, in association with AFCU. Academy members must become a member of AFCU before applying. One applicant will be chosen by the board of directors to receive a $500 scholarship. Applications are due by April 1, 2024. Please submit all applications to the Amherst Federal Credit Union office.
Amherst Academies Scholarship ApplicationAFCU also participates in the NYCU Scholarship program, which offers scholarships to credit union members across the state. The application, which is due January 5, 2024, can be found here: NYCUA Scholarship Program
After completion, the application can be submitted here: Submit Application. Applicants will be asked to enter a “Credit Union Verification Code” when submitting their application. Please contact the AFCU office to receive your verification code.
