What is “New Money”?

For the purposes of this Certificate of Deposit (CD) promotion, “new money” refers to funds that meet the following criteria:

  • External Funds: Money that originates from a source external to Amherst Federal Credit Union (AFCU) and is not currently on deposit at AFCU.
  • Recent Withdrawals: Funds that have not been recently withdrawn from AFCU accounts within the last 31 days from the time of opening the CD account.

    Compliance reviews accounts to ensure they meet the ‘new money criteria.’ If an account does not qualify, the CD Promotion may be subject to closure

Members will receive a maturity notice up to 1 month before their Certificate renews, and will have an additional 5 day grace period past their maturity date to make any decisions or changes regarding the renewal of their Certificate.
