Personal Loans are available to qualified members of at least 6 months for any worthwhile purpose in any amount from $500 to $12,000.
Use this kind of loan for a wide variety of expenses such as debt consolidation, taxes, medical or veterinary expenses, home improvement, appliance upgrades, education expenses, wedding/honeymoon, family vacation or more.
Debt Consolidation Loans
Unsecured Debt Consolidation Loans are available to members of at least 6 months. Pay off credit cards, medical debt, judgements, and more and consolidate them into a fixed monthly payment with a fixed, low interest rate. Take advantage of occasional Personal Loan Sales for discounted rates.

Share Secured Loans
Get a share secured loan from Amherst Federal Credit Union and start building your credit score up with ease. Share secured loans are available to both new and existing members. Use your shares or term share certificate to secure your loan, allowing members to effectively turn cash into credit.
Share secured loans receive an interest rate 1.00% APR lower than our current lowest posted interest rates (typically our new car loan rates). Because the funds for the loan are secured on deposit, there is no credit check for a share secured loan with Amherst Federal Credit Union.
Share secured loans are great for building credit because there are no credit requirements to receive the loan, but regular on-time payments are reported positively to all four major credit bureaus. Share secured loans are a great option for young members looking to start their credit building journey, or individuals looking to repair or rebuild their credit.
Thank a Vet Discount Program
AFCU participates in the Thank a Vet discount program through the Erie County Clerk’s Office. Amherst Federal Credit Union offers a 0.50% APR discount off of the applicant’s qualifying rate for any personal loan or new/used auto loan held elsewhere.
